## YARDAGE

### Best for soils, mulches, and HPB

yards = Area x Depth / 12 / 27

Area (in Square Feet) x Depth (in inches)
divide by 12 (to get cubic feet)
divide by 27 = cubic yards

## TONNAGE

### Best for sand, gravel, and limestone

tonnes = Area x Depth / 200 x 1.103

Area (in Square Feet) x Depth (in inches)
divide by 200
multiply by 1.103 = metric tonnes

## AREA

Square/Rectangle = Length (ft) x Width (ft)

Triangle (Right Angled) = Base (ft) x Height (ft) divided by 2

Circle = Pi (3.14) x radius (r, diameter divided by 2) x radius ## SOIL, MULCH, HPB

### Approximate coverage per cubic yard

## RANDOM FLAGSTONE

### Approximate coverage per ton (2000 Pounds)

1/2” Thick....................................225 sqft
3/4” Thick.........................125-150 sqft
1-1 1/4” Thick................100- 110 sqft
1 1/2” - 1 3/4” Thick........70– 85 sqft
2”-3” Thick............................50– 60 sqft

## ARMOUR STONE WALLS

### Length (ft) x Width (ft) x Height (ft) = Cubic FeetCubic Feet x Weight of Rock Per Cubic Foot = Wall Weight (lbs)

Example:

Limestone Boulder (165lbs/cuft):
100 feet long, 4 feet wide, 2.5 feet high

100 x 4 x 2.5 = 1000 cubic feet

Step Two:
We know: limestone has about 165 pounds per cubic foot,
So: we can multiply the cubic footage by 165 pounds.
1000 cubic feet x 165 lbs = 165,000 pounds

Step Three:
Finally, to calculate the cost you can:
multiply the total number of pounds
by the cost per pound found on our price sheets

## CONVERSIONS

### Pounds and Kilograms

Pounds (Lbs) to Kilograms (Kg):
# in Pounds divided by 2.204

Kilograms (Kg) to Pounds (Lbs):
# in Kilograms multiplied by 2.204

## HOW MUCH DOES A ROCK WEIGH?

### Each cubic foot of rock weighs approximately...

Limestone......165 pounds / cubic foot
Granite............175pounds / cubic foot
Sandstone......150pounds / cubic foot
